After
reading the article “Should NCAA Athletes be paid?” I would agree with the
argument that athletes should be paid. I do not believe that athletes should be
paid like actual employees but have a trust fund where the athletes can later
access the money once they graduate. Athletes are still students and need to
focus more on their education then their sport as a job. For some athletes,
their sport was the ticket to get into college and without their scholarship
school would not be an option. Athletes should treat their sport not as a job
but as a commitment. Playing in college is a privilege and can further
opportunities for a professional career in that sport, but is not an actual
job. College is first about earning an education; add money into the situation
and education drops down to the bottom of priority.

Zola Warren stated in his argument, enabling student athletes to a
“Student-Athlete Trust Fund” will guarantee them money once they graduate—from
the percentage of generated revenue from the television and licensed contracts.
Having the money be unreachable during college, the student athletes can focus
solely on playing their sport and maintaining their education to stay in
school.
I really like how you added that without the scholarships, many people wouldn't be able to have a "ticket to college". Athletics creates many opportunities, but some people that aren't so athletic also feel in a way cheated out of working hard. I know many people that dislike athletes because things are handed to them on a silver platter. But hey, that's life. #yoloswag
